26th December 2012

Poor Daddy, on Boxing Day, putting Kapri's Kitchen together, trying to decipher the instructions!!

And the finished product, a few hours later I might add! Hehe!

25th December 2012

Christmas Day! So exciting, espacially when you are 10 and almost 4!
Kayn was pretty happy on christmas morning when he saw his new wheels! A Fit Bike, that he had dreamed about, and hope for, but really didn't think it was going to happen! Lucky boy!

And little miss, is of course more interested in the box the present came in! This one was extra great, as it was clear on 2 sides, so you could see out!!

My new Nephew, Theodore's first christmas. He was very interested in what was going on, and showed off for all of us, by sitting up by himself for a little while with his christmas present.

Of course, at christmas, you wear all the things you can at once, and play with as many things as you can too! So here is Kapri, with her ballerina costume, christmas hat, and new basket on her bike, all at once!

Lego and sticker book fun at the end of the day.

The new favourite doll, Julia, a cabbage patch doll with the same birthday as Kapri, 3rd February! Very tired girl at the end of a busy couple of days.

24th December 2012

My gorgeous kids, with their crazy favourite Uncle on Christmas Eve. We celebrated the German way this year, and had a big meal, with all the trimmings, and a few presents too, which is the way the Europeans celebrate christmas, and how I always remember celebrating it, as a  child. It was great fun, and certainly dragged out the whole christmas thing for the kids! They loved it, 2 days of food and presents!

23rd December 2012

First trifle I've ever made, got the idea from a blog that I follow, and thought it was a great idea for an easy, but pretty, desert for Christmas Eve, as my Dad and Brother and their partners were coming for dinner. And I must say it really went down a treat, and everyone even had seconds, even after a massive christmas dinner! So I think it is something I will definitely make again!

22nd December 2012

We painted our toenails for christmas today. Kapri's idea for the spots and glitter, but it was really just another way to get into the christmas spirit, and kept her happy as well!

21st December 2012

Today was a friday, and marked a week since school had finished for the year, so we met up with some of the mums from school at a park at Old Noarlunga, and had a picnic, and fed the ducks. Kapri was so excited about this, and it was the highlight of her day! There was even a pelican that came and lined up for some bread.

20th December 2012

Today's pic is a shocking quality pic, but it's still really cute, and close to my heart! Kapri made a necklace for her Daddy from cotton, and a christmas present bow! And of course he then had to wear it! I just love it!

December 19th 2012

Today's photo is of Kapri and her little garden. She planted the seeds, and has watered them religiously since september, and finally she has her 1st sunflower! She, (and I) are so proud that she has stuck with it and managed to grow a flower.

December 18th 2012

Kapri has been having swimming lessons now for about 3 months, and its only been in the last 2 weeks that she has actually got her confidence up, and doesn't cling to the teacher! She really loves the water, and I think she will be a Nipper, like her brother, as soon as she's old enough!

December 17th 2012

This was our second visit to see Father Christmas this year, we went to the magic cave also, but this was a lovely Santa at the Seaford Shopping Center. The kids got a gift and all, and you can take your own pic, and Kapri only freaked out a little, so an almost normal pic! Yay.

December 16th 2012

Carols at Aldinga tonight!! We also had my Mum's side of the family Christmas get together, but this pic is at the carols. It was great fun, and Kapri got right into the dancing and singing. It's really lovely to see how excited she is about Christmas. It's what its all about really, the joy on our children's faces, and being thankful for all that we have.

December 15th 2012

Just a quick snap of Kayn today, I had a wedding today, last one for 2012, so no time at all!

December 14th 2012

Today's shot is one I took practicing the set up for tomorrow's wedding and the photobooth type set up I am doing at the reception.
My kids are never shy when it comes to a pic, so when I called them in, they were there, stickers and all! Haha.

December 13th 2012

Today's pic is an iPhone pic at a cafe at McLaren Vale. Some of the Mum's from school and I went to have a coffee for school breaking up, last bit of freedom for a while, so to speak! This is Kapri and her friend having a great time!

December 12th 2012

Today was fix the woppie day. Elmo, as my daughter calls our VW had run out of brakes, and luckily hubby loves his VW's so is pretty handy at fixing these things!

December 11th 2012

So, todays pic is of Moggie, who is our adopted, passed on, and inherited back again cat! It's a long story, but he was a stray that we adopted around 8 or 9 years ago, then he went to live with my in-laws for a few years in Queensland, and then they moved back here, only to sell up and go travelling in a caravan, so he came back here to live out his days! Phew. As I said, he and the dog get along great and are besties, which is awesome. He doesn't really look that impressed with having his portrait taken!

December 10th 2012

So, on this photo a day journey of mine, it seems that this time of year makes it very difficult to actually get the pics taken, shared!! Haha.
Anyway, todays pics is of our crazy Kirra. She is a 4 year old American Staffy, and as my Dad always says, 'she was standing behind the door when the brains were being handed out' lol! Lucky for her, she's a pretty girl, good natured, and great with the kids, and also great with Moggie, the cat ( tomorrow's pic).
Thanks for stopping by, and see you tomorrow!

December 9th 2012

It's beginning to look a lot like christmas! I do love this time of year, really I do, even with all the extra workload, and the extra shopping and all the stress, it really is a lovely time to reflect on what we have, and be thankful for how lucky I am. And for me its all about family, spending time with them all, putting aside differences, and just being together.

December 8th 2012

Kapri. All dressed up for her childcare christmas party. But of course she couldn't pose nicely for a quick pic! But this is totally her, always the life of the party! I love her to bits, she definitely keeps us on our toes, and I cannot believe she will be 4 in less than 2 months!! I really wish they didn't have to grow up before our eyes!

December 7th 2012

So proud of my big boy! He received a legend medal for the premiers reading challenge today at assembly. He has come so far with his reading this year, and this challenge has really been one of the things that has helped him along. He loves a good challenge. And he has quite a collection of medals!

December 6th 2012

This is just a quick photo of the front of my house.
Kapri is on the path, and its looking a little christmassy. I just love my house, we've been here for just over 10 yrs now, and I hope I never have to leave!

December 5th 2012

Ooops! So I find myself a few days behind already! I have been taking photos, just haven't had much opportunity to get them up here.
Wednesday, I took my kidlets to the Magic Cave at David Jones in the city. They were bith so excited for days leading up to it, especially Kapri, but of course, as soon as we got in to see the Big F.C., she freaked out and wouldn't even look at him!
This image was taken while waiting in the line for 45 mins to see him, and I just love how Christmassy it is. I even looks like the reindeer is about to say something to her.
I really love Christmas time, I just wish it was a little more normal leading up to it!

Photo A Day ( or P.A.D for short!)

A wonderful friend of mine told me she was starting a P.A.D project, that she does every year, and if I would join her. I was very excited, as I started to think of all the possibilities!

So here I am, starting a photo a day, technically from the 1st December, although I did forget that we were actually in December!! Luckily though, I have actually taken a photo each day this month, as I am already taking a 'selfie' each day for another project on the go, and thats a whole different post!
So there is one day in the last 4 that I have a 'selfie' in, but the others are genuinely from each day this month.

I hope you enjoy this journey with me, and I really feel that this will be something I, and my family, will be able to look back on in years to come, to remember this particular moment in our lives.

' We do not remember days, we remember moments'.

December 1st 2012

This photo is of my gorgeous Hubby, Dale, & I all dressed up in our 70's gear for a 40th on Saturday night. It really was a hoot, and it's great fun to be a bit silly and let your hair down, so to speak!

December 2nd 2012

My Husband is a little bit of a VW nut! He's always been into them since he got his 1st car at 16. This is his latest project, a factory original 67 Rag Top. This is the car stripped right back to bare metal, pretty much like the day it was made! This shed is like his second home sometimes, and Kapri, our 3 year old, loves helping out any way she can.

December 3rd 2012

My wonderful family flying a kite at our beloved Aldinga Beach. We really do spend a lot of family time here, all year round. We are only walking distance to the beach from our house, and we certainly get to enjoy it more in the summer months, when its not getting dark early.

December 4th 2012

This is me in my veggie patch, behind me is some pretty awesome corn we are growing, and I must say I am pretty proud of it, and if it actually gets corn on it, I will be ecstatic! This pic is one of a month worth of self portraits I am in the middle of, and the first photo was on the 18th November, and its amazing to see how fast the corn has grown in the background!

So, this brings us up to date to today, I hope you like the images and my ramblings so far, and I hope to see you again tomorrow!
